Murdo Graham                                     .

The sad news has been received at North Tolsta of the death of Murdo Graham, of 24 North Tolsta, Tiofaidhean of the Seafrorth Highlanders.

Graham, who was born at Back, was thirty-one years of age and leaves a widow and two children, for whom much sympathy is felt.   ( A third child was born shortly after the father's death.)

When quite a youth he joined the Seaforth Highlanders;  served a few years in India.

and the South African War, for which he held the King's Medal and clasps.

He had left the army after seven years' service and his time as a reservist would have expired two months after the outbreak of war.

He was present in all the engagements from Mons and, as an old campaigner, was very popular with the Lewis Militiamen serving at the front.
